He is not openly perverting the Gospel by alluding that his position is the Christian thing to do and using his office to call for repealing the 1996 federal law defining marriage as between a man and a woman. The question must be asked, why are we giving this man such leeway for the obvious ungodly decisions that he is making?

This does not apply in this case since God calls us by His word to separate from unrighteousness, (Come out from among them and be separated and touch not the unclean thing). As Christians we are stewards of Gods things and when God rejects a thing and we for whatever reason condones or accepts it (by our actions) have we then also rejected God?

We first have to realize he is the President and not a Pastor. Just because he is a Christian does not mean everyone in the United States is a Christian. His job is to treat everyone equal regardless of religion, race, sex etc. God has given everyone a choice, God does not make us become Christians. Just because President Obama is a Christian and believes the word, he can’t make everyone in the United States practice his religion. President Obama has to allow people to choose the right thing. He has a great family and he is showing the United States how to be a Christian father and how to have a Christian family (father, mother and children) God has called us to be examples and I think that is what President Obama is doing. (in my eyes no other President has been a true family role model for the United States) I don't think he has unleashed sin because he has agreed with same sex marriage (sin was unleashed with Adam and Eve). You have to realize that even though all the other Presidents did not support same sex marriage, it still went on because it was left up to each state. We are all human and as Christians we need to come together and support him even more, with prayer and more prayer. There has been soooooo much sin in the White House with other Presidents saying they are Christians, but we have to pray for our leaders. The black/church community is pointing fingers at President Obama because he has endorsed same sex marriage, but this issue is not new! The true blame lies within the church. The United States has a break down in family, even in the church, and that is where this all begins is in the church. The church needs to build up their families instead of building all these mega churches with millions of lost Christian members! Same sex marriage is a church issue. Yes, same sex marriage is a sin (which I believe), but where does it end....maybe President Obama should pass a law against having sex before marriage, or committing adultery! Yes that sounds crazy because it is! All these issues start at church, with God's people and we are to go out to be examples of His Word! So Christians, be an example. Teach your children the word and let your children see you praying and reading the Bible. Let them know that just because everyone at school is having sex, wearing inappropriate clothes, being a lesbian or homosexual that it is not right! Stand on the Word of God and let God be the head of your household. Stop blaming President Obama for a problem that has snow balled out of control now that he is in office. We have allowed society to take God out of our schools, out of marriage, and many other things! We need to stand up and put God back in our lives because our children are suffering because we are not fighting for what we know is right! God has a plan, this issue with President Obama is a wake up call! God wants us to wake up, stop blaming others and do what you are called to do!

After all, I don't see you campaigning for the "civil rights" of polygamists, why is that? Why shouldn't people from all faiths and cultures be granted their civil rights to recognize their polygamous marriages? Or people who permit marriage between adults and 12-year olds? You do realize that there are MANY parts of the world where these things are considered quite normal, don't you? Isn't it "bigoted" for you to consider The American Way superior to other ways of life - not to mention hypocritical?

Many would like to "bamboozle" those of us who are committed to living for Christ into thinking that disagreeing with homosexual marriage is "bigoted" and lacking in compassion. "Treat others the way you would want to be treated", exhorts Obama and others. And if this were the real issue, no true Christian would be justified to disagree. But that is not the real issue here.

Re: Did Barack Obama Lose The Black Christian Vote Over His Support For Gay Marriage? | Praise 104.1

It appears my excitement over history being made on May 9 when the first sitting President of the US declared that a minority, gay Americans, should no longer be treated as 2nd class citizens & should have the civil right to marry, was too much for them. Make no mistake: President Obama’s decision to publicly endorse gay marriage carries serious political risk, though also moral reward. Future generations will look back & wonder what took him so long. I don't care about his reasons, as I know what he did took great personal courage & will come at a political price. For the millions of young gay Americans across this nation, their President’s words provide genuine hope that they will be the first generation to grow up with the freedom to fully pursue the American dream. Marriage—the promise of love, companionship, & family—is basic on the pursuit of that dream. Loving, committed same-sex couples across the country thank him for speaking up for justice & fairness. President Obama’s words remind us that marriage & equality are universal values that unite us all. I, like most of my friends, do not have a goal to follow in the footsteps of Larry King nor Elizabeth Taylor, who were each married (8) times. We do not want a Britney Spears 55-hour marriage to a childhood friend because she was in Las Vegas with nothing better to do. Nor do we desire to be like anti-gay marriage advocate Rush Limbaugh, who only recently married for the 4th time. He feels gay couples, some together 30-40 years, should not have the civil right to marry, because he claims "they are meaningless & will destroy the sanctity of marriage" - I am assuming his other 3 marriages were not meaningful. Same-sex marriages are fully recognized in Argentina, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain (large Catholic population here), & in Mexico City. I believe marriage is a relationship between 2 consenting adults – not animals, trees, children, etc. If a church or certain groups disapprove, that's their right, but it is not their right to stop it. In this country, we do not have absolute majority rule. Rather majority rule is tempered by individual rights. Our constitutions provide the basis for these protections. The reason heterosexuals marry is not to establish legal status, allow joint filing of taxes, or protect each other in medical decision making. They marry because it is the ultimate expression of a persons love for another. Marriage is a commitment that says - I love you so much that I want to live the rest of my life with you. I want to share the ups & downs, forsake all others & be together until death do us part. Some people talk about living wills & other legal contracts that can give us essentially the same rights as a married couple. If that is the case, why don’t all heterosexual couples use these legal maneuvers instead of marriage? Many people seeking to condemn gay people point to the Bible & the Book of Leviticus, where we read that men lying with men is an abomination. However, they conventiently leave off other verses found in the same book of Leviticus that are equally challenging. Leviticus also tells us that eating shrimp & lobster is an abomination. That a person should not wear material woven of 2 kinds of material. In Paul’s letter to the community in Corinth we read, ‘For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church….’ And yet these words have not prevented Christian denominations from ordaining women. If some choose to cherry-pick from their Bible, why not include these? DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21 / If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately. DEUTERONOMY 22:22 / If a married person has sex with someone else's husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death. MARK 10:1-12 / Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced. LEVITICUS 18:19 / The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman's period. If they disobey, both shall be executed. MARK 12:18-27 / If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir. DEUTERONOMY 25:11-12 / If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy's genitals, her hand shall be cut off. Who decides where we draw the line in the sand - why are we to live by some verses in the Bible yet not others? Try to imagine where we would be if other civil rights issues where not challenged and ultimately changed: 1840: Don't like slavery? Sorry. 1910: So you think women should be able to vote? Sorry. 1950: You think black children should have access to the same quality of education as white children? Sorry. 1960: A black man & a white woman getting married? Sorry. Why is it that a convicted imprisoned heterosexual murderer can get married, but a loving, committed gay couple who have been together for years cannot? Even a child molester can marry, any convicted criminal for that matter, as long as they are heterosexual? Some of you may not know this, however, according to the Office of the General Counsel of the US General Accounting Office, there are 1,138 benefits the US government provides to legally married couples (male & female) & denies to non-married gay couples - here are just a few: at the CA STATE LEVEL: Assumption of Spouses Pension, Automatic Inheritance, Automatic Housing Lease Transfer, Bereavement Leave, Burial Determination, Child Custody, Crime Victims Recovery Benefits, Divorce Protection, Domestic Violence Protection, Exemption from Property Tax on Partners Death, Immunity from Testifying Against Spouse, Insurance Breaks, Joint Adoption, Joint Bankruptcy, Joint Parenting, etc. At the FEDERAL LEVEL: Sick Leave to Care for Partner, Access to Military Stores, Assumption of Spouses Pension, Bereavement Leave, Immigration Insurance Breaks, Medical Decisions on Behalf of Partner, Social Security Survivor Benefits, Tax Breaks, Veterans Discounts, Visitation of Partner in Hospital, or Prison. For those who think this is NOT a civil rights issue, in 1967, the Supreme Court said no state could prohibit mixed-race marriages because “marriage is one of the basic civil rights of man." I believe marriage is a HUMAN & CIVIL right, not a heterosexual privilege.

#Drops Mic

Re: Coco Brother | Praise 104.1

Coco Brother is so good at what he does. I see and hear when some christians say, one sin is no greater than the other or all sin is sin, yes this is true but rememeber Jerome Smith that God doesn't want you to be in Perpetual sin and GAY marriage is just that. Take this example two same sex partners decide to adopt a child, what kind of mindset is that child going to have, and how will that child be affected, if a person is gay thats hers or her issue with God and it is NOT a civil rights issue (Dr. King would agree along with countless other who died for different rights but I will close with these last words and a scripture reference.
The image of God is both male and female and is reflected in a godly union between male and female where the creative power of God, His life-giving, His self-giving and His moral nature are perfectly expressed. This is only possible in a heterosexual union.

When God created a partner for Adam He created Eve - not another Adam. This means that perfect partnership requires some level of difference as well as a level of similarity so great that Adam could cry out loudly, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh". Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is the normal method of male/female bonding (emotionally and physically) because it corresponds to the design of our bodies and because it is the normal means by which offspring are created.

If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of sexual intercourse healthy and natural. Homosexual anal intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error Romans 1:27 says And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Coming around a bend. I saw a male deer in my head light. the speed limit says 45 miles per hour, I dropped it down to 30. I slammed on brakes and hydroplaned. I could not stop, I missed the deer and hit a tree and my car flipped over onto it's roof and skidded down in a ditch. I hit my head on the roof inside of my car, and blacked out. when I woke up, I was hanging upside down from my seat belt. It was silent nothing but rain could be heard. I asked God for help, my voice was raw and sore from screaming, the lights on my car slowly dimmed and went out I heard my radio still playing on Praise 103.9. and I heard Coco Brother say, ( Somebody out there right now need prayer. I need lift somebody up in prayer.) As he started to pray I started to cry, when he finish praying. A woman voice called out to me. I pressed the button on my card door and pushed it open. She reached in and grabbed my hand. I could not see her, I was hanging upside down and the seat belts would not allow me to move. All I saw was her long pale hair whipping in the wind, I did not see her face. she gently said (I got you, I will not leave you.) then I heard the sounds of ambulance, police, and fire fighter siren coming. The woman has said to me (They are here and now I can let go of your hand.) when I was discharged from a 2 day stay in the hospital with a concussion I called the police department and spoke with the officer on the scene who had my belongings, I asked him if he had any information on the woman with the long blonde hair the helped me. he said there no woman at the scene with that description. I asked him who found me. He claims a man in tow truck was driving by and saw a car upside down and called the police. Corey, I have never met you but I want to thank you for asking Jesus to call upon his angels. I walked away from my car accident without a scratch, all of my windows shatter in my car, metal bent and twisted , and by the grace of god not a scratch not even a nick of glass marred my skin. The bible does not endorse homosexuality, and particularly says it is an abomination as referenced in many passages of scripture, i.e., Rev. 1:8. For this reason, my conscious will not allow me to support a president that has this view and I see it as leading this country down the wrong path. This is a civil and human rights issue.
